The greatest project you will ever work on is you. We’re totally here for it.

Once the dust of early parenthood settles, how do you move from simply surviving into thriving?

For mothers who are ready to look within, be vulnerable, and dig deep — Rooted Willow Book Club can be the guide that gets you there. Come together with other tender-yet-strong, rewilding women to explore the hard topics and big questions of how to create the life that is authentically and wholly you.

  • Ideas have power.

And books are full of them. Consuming ideas broadens our perspectives, engages our creativity, and reignites our inner sparks.

  • Reflection begets change.

Reading with purpose provides a structure and nurturing space to explore our inner landscapes — the first and most integral step towards personal transformation.

  • Discussion is actualization in action.

The accountability of group exploration encourages articulation and meaning-making, which help lead us to our authentic selves.

Winter 2024 Session

by Dr. Nicole LePera

“The world needs this book! Wherever you are on your healing journey, How to Do the Work will guide you to stronger relationships, more joy, and a clearer path for your future. We can’t always control what happens to us, but Nicole gives us a roadmap to how to respond from a place of healing and inner peace.”

New York Times bestselling author of The School of Greatness

  • This cohort will utilize a hybrid model including: 15 weeks of guided reading and discussion in our Facebook group and four face-to-face sessions (two in person and two virtual) that will focus on connection and socialization with like-minded friends. You are not required to come to all of the sessions; engage with what’s offered in whatever ways feel best to you.

  • Our facilitator team will deliver curated content and discussion questions in our Facebook group throughout the week, following the book chapter-by-chapter, beginning January 8 through April 15. Face-to-face sessions, with a focus on connection, will be held in-person on January 8 and April 15 from 6-9 pm at Panera in Abingdon, MD and virtually from 7-9 pm on February 12 and March 11.

  • Each participant will need to obtain their own copy of the book. If you prefer listening to reading, you might consider the audiobook instead of or in addition to a printed copy. We encourage use of a personal journal to makes notes and reflections about your reading, but this is optional.

  • Because we want this program to be accessible to everyone, registration will be offered on a pay-what-you-want scale. Participants may choose to pay the full program cost of $35 or a reduced program cost of $15. Those who pay the full cost for this round will get one of our insulated tumblers.

  • Registration will open on November 14 and close on January 4, 2024.

  • Feel free to contact us with questions! Send an email to sara@rootedwillowcommunity.org and write “Book Club Inquiry” in the subject line.

FAQs

How do I know if this group is right for me?

We aim to foster an environment that is safe, inclusive, and judgment-free for parents in any stage. Our focus is supporting your growth and healing as a human within the context of parenthood. The best way to find out if we’re a good fit is to give us a try! We love having new friends join.

What if I don’t have time to complete the reading, or something comes up and I can’t make a meeting?

When you join a book club session, you get access to our group. The way you engage and interact is totally up to you! There is value in reading even when you don’t discuss and value in discussion even when you don’t read. We know that your time is precious and limited. You belong, even if we can’t be your top priority every week.

I saw something about a Facebook group. What’s that?

When you join a book club session, you get access to our private Facebook group forever! We use the Facebook group as a place to share and converse between discussion meetings, plus stay connected with our friends from previous sessions.

I can’t commit this session. Will you do this again?

Yes! Our winter session runs January through April. We repeat the same 13-week program each winter, utilizing the book How to Do the Work by Dr. Nicole LePera. Our summer and fall sessions are still in development. The best way to know what we’re doing next is to join our waitlist above.
