Our Story
Rooted Willow Community is a grassroots nonprofit organization. Rooted Willow is a symbol of resilience and strength. We are incorporated under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and registered as a nonprofit corporation with the state of Maryland. We are registered in both states as a charitable organization qualified to accept donations. We have received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS, meaning donations to our organization are tax deductible.
We began in September 2021 with a single peer support group for new moms in Harford County, MD. “After Baby Club” gained popularity quickly, and it was soon clear that community need was greater and more pressing than we initially imagined. We incorporated under the name Rooted Willow Community in spring 2022 and have been growing ever since.
We have big plans and dreams and are forward-focused with an emphasis on organic, tempered, sustainable growth. There is a clear need and desire for our programming, and we anticipate that we will continue to grow steadily over the coming months and years.
Transforming support for parents.
We are a group of parents and professionals helping other parents access the support they need. As a collective, we host peer support meetings and social events and publish a blog with a focus on parenting and mental health. We help our members by providing a safe space for connection, facilitating friendships, and offering tools to help you find greater confidence and empowerment in your parenting.

New parents — particularly mothers — have been under supported for far too long. Fortunately, recognition of this deficit is growing, and efforts to change our societal view on motherhood are just beginning to emerge. Rooted Willow Community is poised on the forefront of this wave. We are creating a unique and unparalleled needs-driven program that is radically different from anything that’s currently offered in our geographic area.

We are central to Bel Air, MD and offer programming at several locations in Harford and Baltimore Counties. Can’t make it in person? No worries – we’ve got you covered with online meetings.
